I received my Multi-Pure Drinking Water System as a baby shower gift from a wonderful neighbor of mine. You see, I am a single person in the process of adopting an infant from Central America. We just received a great letter from one of our amazing distributors, Deanna DeLong. She has won awards with Multi-Pure and continues to break records with her terrific network. Here is what she shared:

Happiness is doing a Multi-Pure demo! I met the most delightful person last night. Megan is thirtyish, has her master’s degree in law, and has extreme chemical sensitivities and fibromyalgia. She already drinks a lot of water, but I took the time to do Drink Water for Life presentation with her anyway. She still learned a couple of new things about how drinking lots of water makes you healthier.

The best part was comparing her Brita with the Multi-Pure. WOW! The Brita looked almost as dirty as the tap water, and it even turned slightly yellow when I did the OTO test. The Williamette River

Filtered water from the Willamette River in Portland, Oregon may soon be bottled and sold by Dasani.

The Oregonian newspaper reports that Coca-Cola Bottling of Oregon plans a $35 million expansion of its suburban Wilsonville plant near Interstate 5 to include Dasani water.

Critics say that filtering and bottling tap water, as Dasani and some other brands do, just packs landfills with bottles when people could simply turn on a faucet in their homes. Over 2 million tons of plastic bottles are landfilled every year! Only 1 out of every 10 bottles are actually recycled.

Did you know that the FDA does not regulate water that is bottled and sold in the same state? FDA guidelines even allow a small amount of fecal matter in bottle water. That's disgusting and completely unacceptable.

And people want to pay extra for this stuff? In 2007, Americans spent over 11 billion dollars on bottled water. Bottled water is second only to soda. Depending on the brand, bottled water costs from 25 cents to 10 dollars a gallon! That's more than the price of gas or even beer! Multi-Pure has always been the better solution: better for your health, better for your wallet, and better for your planet. This seems like such a no-brainer to me.

Make your voice heard and vote for better water!

Yesterday our country made history. Whether you're celebrating or lamenting the results of yesterday's election, one can't help but be moved by the power of a single ballot. We all have a voice. Are we using that power to make our world a better place?

Election 2008 included such major choices as president of our country, the definition of marriage, and the value of human life. But that's not all. Many voters were also able to vote on the quality of water in their area.

Voters in Santa Clarita, California approved a local referendum that will require the removal of all salt-generated home water softeners that discharge into the sewer system of the Santa Clarita Valley Sanitation District. Taking effect January 1, 2009, it will likely be the first law in the nation that mandates home softener removals to reduce chloride discharges into wastewater streams of a large community.

Measure S, as it was called, comes only weeks after the PWQA and WQA scored a significant victory, when Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger vetoed Assembly Bill (AB) 2270, which would have increased the powers of regional and local water agencies to remove softeners.

Another water issue on yesterday's ballot occurred in the state of Pennsylvania, where voters agreed to allow the state to borrow $400 million to repair and upgrade water and sewer systems. The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection had urged voters to approve the referendum, which also called for the money to be used to curb storm water runoff, reduce pollution and address the negative environmental effects of agricultural chemicals.
